While Oxford Exchange does not have free wifi, you can work remotely here if you have a hotspot. There are tons of areas to set up shop, including, outdoor tables & chairs, bar seating, and couches. The antique library feel gives it a vibrant vibe that will take you back in history, while boosting productivity. (There is also a Buddy Brew Coffee here!)

We already mentioned their Hyde Park location, but there are also three other locations in downtown Tampa at Park Tower, at the Oxford Exchange, & their original location on Kenndey Blvd. No matter which spot you choose, each provides a warm, unique atmosphere.

With free Wifi throughout the Sparkman Wharf, you can work all day without interruption. However, the ample outdoor areas mean there are less power outlets if you need to recharge.
If you’re looking for a fun, outdoor place to work, this is the place! It has a garden/park vibe and tons of places to grab breakfast, lunch, coffee or a happy-hour drink. There’s a Blind Tiger Coffee location here, so the coffee’s on deck.
The waterfront views are also a major plus. Who doesn’t want to work with ocean views…?
If you like places to work outside, Foundation Coffee Co has a beautiful patio where you can enjoy the weather while you type away. Personally, I love string lights (magical), so it’s one of the best remote working spots in my opinion…
There are many other areas to sit inside – tables, bartops & window bar. You can shuffle around throughout the day to change up your work environment (a great hack to keep up productivity).
This coworking spot has many different restaurants inside, so you can take a lunch break without having to go anywhere! The Hall on Franklin is also open late, so you can work whenever fits your schedule – & enjoy a drink while you’re working…
It’s similar to the feel of Armature Works, but in a much smaller setting. It’s almost better in our opinion because you can order from all 7 menus at your table while your server runs to each window to grab the food, instead of walking around to each yourself!
Later in the evenings & weekends you can enjoy live music and happy hour deals. The pretty surrounding also seem to boost my productivity towards the end of the day…
Pro-tip: Try.the.empanadas. They’re honestly one of the best things we’ve ever eaten. Plus, they beat Bobby Flay!
If you’re just looking to get out of the house, there’s FREE WiFi offered all along the Tampa River Walk & downtown parks! You can sit on the bench swings near Armature Works…or hang out in the grassy areas throughout the River Walk.
This Davis Islands coffee spot isn’t in the heart of downtown, but it is close & a nice change of scenery if you’re looking to get out of the house and try a new spot to work.
There’s plenty of space to work, with a big communal table & smaller tables too. The outdoor coffee bar seating is definitely our favorite place to post up & work though.
It’s a small coffee shop with a mom & pop vibe, but they serve some yummy drinks, pastries & sandwiches. Be sure to try their espresso!

They serve delicious food according to many reviews, so you can spend all day here working if you need. Recommendations include their Cuban sandwiches & cookies!
They are open Monday to Friday, but closed on the weekends, so it is one of the best places to work remotely downtown. There’s a 2nd location downtown on N. Ashley.
Kahwa Coffee was voted the best coffee in the bay, so you can be sure you’re getting a yummy cup of Joe. This downtown location of Kahwa Coffee is a great spot to work for a few hours or all day.
The only downside to this place to work away from home is the limited parking.
This downtown place to work remotely has free WiFi & a small selection of food options, like sandwiches & soups. There is a good amount of seating, but is a smaller spot.
They do host weekly events for the community, as well as open mic nights, which is a huge bonus!
Their Ybor coffee shop is a small location right on the 7th Ave strip. In our opinion, it’s one of the best places to work away from home because you can walk along 7th Ave to take
Blind Tiger prides itself on a coffee connoisseur culture, so if you’re a coffee-lover, check out this spot. There’s a house-made tea that is bomb too.

If you’re looking for an outdoor spot to work outside your house, Spaddy’s has free WiFi & cold brew ON DRAFT! What more do you need beside good coffee and vibe…?
While it may feel weird to work outside, there is more than enough seating for you spread out with your work stuff. Plus, the WiFi is reliable & strong so you can be sure you have a good connection. You don’t want to look over this unique place to work remotely.

They have a cute bartop you can work at, looking out to Hyde Park Village, as well as a few tables indoors. The South Tampa location has a similar feel to other locations with bright orange and table seating. There are not many wall plugins so if you need to charge up, it can be difficult. There’s also a small shop connected to this coffee spot!
If you’re looking for an afternoon drink for a break from work, Blind Tiger serves beer & wine at this spot. However, there is no outdoor seating at this remote working spot.
With two locations in the metro area, Caffeine is a great option for working remotely in downtown Tampa. They have a coffee shop on Kennedy Blvd. and one in the heart of downtown Tampa. The Kennedy Blvd location is a buzzing little coffee shop – one of our favorite spaces to cowork because of the remote working vibe – there’s always people in there being productive.
If you’re on-the-go, they even have a drive thru option to grab their signature coffees & yummy food….gotta try the avocado toast! The orange cold brew is a quirky drink, but a must try at this local favorite.

This small coffee shop is located inside a bed & breakfast in South Hyde Park, making it one of the most unique places to work remotely in Tampa. If you’re looking for a cozy environment with WiFi, you’ve found your spot!
You can even call-in ahead of time to ensure your coffee or espresso is ready for you when you arrive…talk about convenience.
This unique place to work away from home in North Hyde Park spot is known for it’s delicious coffee & industrious vibe. They have happy hour from 1-3 pm every Monday to Friday where you can get a great deal on drinks.
Because it is a smaller shop, you may not be able to find a place to work on the weekends, but you should add this to your list. They are also huge lightening fans, so during the hockey season, you can get a free coffee after wins!
You can even purchase their already-been-brewed coffee grounds for plant food or composting. It’s also interesting to note that the original owner of The Lab started The Blind Tiger Coffee Co!
If you’re looking for a central Tampa remote working spot, The International Plaza has TONS of tables for you to work, both indoor and outdoor. They also have umbrellas for outdoor tables, which is nice in the summer, as well as couches indoors.
While there are some distractions here since so many people are coming and going, there are convenient high tops in the “atrium” area, near the windows, where they have outlets built into the tables.
I’ve spent many afternoons here working diligently with headphones in. As a bonus, there are lots of yummy spots to eat & great deals at happy hours so you can enjoy an end-of-the-day drink.
The Westchase location doesn’t have a lot of plugins or couches, but there is a long, communal table you can work at. If you’re looking for remote working spots in Westchase, this is a cute option! It is located in a small shopping center with outdoor tables available
They also have locations in downtown at Sparkman Wharf & South Tampa.
This Westchase coffee shop is a great place to work away from home. They have a full menu and coffee bar, so you grab whatever you need while working. It is a smaller coffee shop, but locally owned, so support locally!
While this is more of a general suggestion, it is definitely worth mentioning. Most hotels offer free Wifi and seating areas that you can take advantage of.
You may have to purchase something from the hotel cafe or restaurant, but if you’re in a pickle, it’s always good to have a back up plan for working. The Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel’s Link@Sheraton area is a great example! There;s free Wifi, dedicated work stations & basically everything you need to work remotely.
Another great free place to work remotely are public libraries. The Largo New Tampa Regional Library has a small waterfall outside to enjoy, or Gauzza in Westchase is always a great option for private work spaces and meeting rooms.
There are over 20 Tampa Bay libraries, so there is bound to be something for everyone. As naturally quiet places, the library is the perfect place to escape all the distractions!
